President El-Sisi Meets with Advisor of South Sudan President for Security Affairs

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Advisor of South Sudan President for Security Affairs General Tut Gulwak, in the presence of the Director of the General Intelligence and Minister of Investment of South Sudan Mr. Dhieu Mathok.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that Mr. Gulwak conveyed to President El-Sisi a message from the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir, who invited him to participate in the final signing ceremony of the peace agreement between the Sudanese transitional government and the Sudanese armed movements that is scheduled to be held in Juba early next October.

On his part, President El-Sisi asked that his greetings be conveyed to his brother President Salva Kiir. He expressed his profound appreciation for inviting Egypt to this important event. This invitation was extended to Egypt for its efforts in support of Sudan's stability and capabilities and the historical ties and distinguished relations between the two countries and two peoples.

On the level of bilateral relations between Egypt and South Sudan, the President affirmed Egypt's determination to strengthen bilateral cooperation and provide support to South Sudan in all fields, especially with regard to development. Enhancing cooperation between the two countries aims at benefiting from Egypt’s considerable expertise in promoting the development and construction process and comes in light of the potentials and inherent wealth of South Sudan to meet the aspirations of its people towards a better future. In this context, President El-Sisi stressed that consolidating security and stability is the guarantor of achieving development in South Sudan.

On his part, Mr. Gulwak conveyed the greetings of President Salva Kiir to President El-Sisi, expressing his country's great appreciation for Egypt, and its people and leadership and praising the continuous development in the course of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mr. Gulwak also presented the latest developments in the political situation of his country. In this regard, he praised Egypt’s role and efforts in support of the stability of the region and South Sudan, within the framework of Egypt's pivotal role at the regional level and the historical ties between the two countries and peoples. The Spokesman added that they also exchanged views on developments in a number of regional issues, foremost of which are the waters of the Nile and the latest developments in the Renaissance Dam file.
