El-Sisi Receives King of Bahrain

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain at Cairo International Airport.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi welcomed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa in his second home, Egypt. He stressed that Egyptians hold Bahrain in high regard. He also highlighted the Egyptian-Bahraini relations which represent a model of strategic cooperation between the Arabs. In addition, his Excellency expressed Egypt’s keenness to further enhance the frameworks of joint cooperation with Bahrain in various fields.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the firm relations between the two countries, stressing Bahrain’s keenness on enhancing the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation in various areas so as to realize the common interests of the two peoples.
The King lauded the leading developmental renaissance which has realized major achievements in various sectors under the leadership of President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed appreciation for Egypt’s unwavering, firm and supportive positions as well as its outstanding contributions over long decades to supporting the path of progress and development in Bahrain. He valued Egypt’s leading and historic role in protecting Arab national security, defending Arab issues and interests and reinforcing the foundations of peace, security and stability in the Middle East.
The talks reviewed a multitude of regional issues. El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s firm position with regard to the security of the Arab Gulf region, reiterating that it is integral to Egypt’s national security.

The meeting also tackled a number of crises in some Arab countries, as well as efforts to combat terrorism and extremist ideology and to counter foreign interference. There was a consensus in views with regard to the need to support efforts aimed at reaching political solutions to the various crises in the region. In the same context, the two leaders lauded the agreement signed between the Government of Yemen and the Southern Transitional Council, under the auspices of King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and with the support of the Government of the United Arab Emirates and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The agreement is considered a pivotal step on the path of resolving the Yemeni crisis.
