President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the Africa 2019- Investment for Africa Forum in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr and Moroccan Ambassador to Cairo Ahmed Tazi.
The Spokesman for the Presidency said that the President welcomed the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs in Egypt. He asked for his greetings to be conveyed to his brother King Mohammed VI of Morocco and lauded the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries.
The President also pointed out Egypt's keenness to push forward the frameworks of bilateral cooperation between the two countries at various levels and to launch them to broader horizons in line with the deep bonds of brotherhood between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The Moroccan Minister conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to President El-Sisi and handed him a written message from King Mohammed VI. It included Morocco's pride in its close and distinguished relations with Egypt at the official and grass-roots levels and praised Egypt’s achievement under the leadership of President El-Sisi over the past years in the fields of security, stability and development, leading to the restoration of its leading and effective role regionally and internationally. In his message, the Moroccan monarch stressed his interest in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Egypt and the importance of intensifying the work towards exploring new horizons of joint cooperation in various fields.
The Spokesman added that the meeting reviewed the development of a number of regional issues of common interest, especially the situation in Libya. There was a consensus in this context regarding the importance of supporting Libya’s institutions and the main role of the Libyan national army when it comes to combating terrorism, achieving security and stability and safeguarding its territorial integrity.
