President El-Sisi Joins Lebanon Donor Conference

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi participated today in the UN-backed virtual donor conference that is hosted by France and attended by a group of Heads of State and Government.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency said that the donor conference was held to secure aid for Lebanon from Lebanon’s main international partners and to coordinate the dispatch of emergency aid with international community to deal with the effects of Beirut Port Explosion.

During his speech, President El-Sisi expressed his profound appreciation to French President Macron for hosting this important conference, calling on the international community to spare no efforts to help Lebanon recover.

President El-Sisi also indicated that Egypt began to dispatch military planes loaded with emergency aid and medical supplies to the Lebanese brothers after the Aug. 4 explosion Beirut Port. Moreover, Egypt’s Field Hospital in Lebanon opened its doors to provide emergency medical services. His Excellency reaffirmed Egypt's support and solidarity with the Lebanese people and stressed that it stands ready to further assist Lebanon by dispatching more emergency aid. He also reiterated, in this regard, that Egypt would harness its potentials to help the Lebanese people reconstruct the affected areas.

President El-Sisi called on loyal Lebanese patriots, regardless of their positions, to join hands and keep their country away from regional tensions and conflicts. His Excellency also called on them to focus on strengthening the Lebanese national institutions and meet the aspirations of the Lebanese people by implementing inevitable economic reforms that cannot be postponed. Thereby, Lebanon would gain the trust of international financial institutions and international support, which will positively affect Lebanon's efforts towards achieving stability, development and prosperity, he added.
