President El-Sisi Ends State of Emergency across the Country for the First Time in Years

It is my pleasure for us to share this moment that we strived for through hard work and struggle. Egypt, thanks to its great people and loyal men, has become an oasis of security and stability in the region; hence my decision, for the first time in years, to end the state of emergency across the country.
The real decision makers are the Egyptian people who have sincerely contributed to all development and construction efforts over the past years.
As I announce this decision, I remember and honor our heroic martyrs without whom we could not have achieved security and stability.
Together, we steadily proceed towards building the new republic, relying on the help and support of Allah.
