President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a tour of inspection, this afternoon, of the roads and axes being developed in east Cairo.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that during the tour, the President was updated on the latest developments of the main roads and axes and the new bridges network in the 10th district in Nasr City and some neighborhoods in the Fifth Settlement. The new roads, axes and bridges network has contributed to ending traffic congestion in these areas.

President El-Sisi also inspected the implementation status of the new Shinzō Abe axis, which will link Mehwar Al-Shaheed “Martyr Axis” to the Suez Road and Ring Road. This axis will cross Al-Mithaq Road in Zahraa Madinat Nasr in the tenth district and under which the automotive market and Madinat Al-Amal go, extending over 8 km. His Excellency gave directives for establishing this vital axis according to an advanced engineering and construction plan providing all the necessary services for vehicles. In the same regard, the President stressed the important role this axis would play in regulating traffic in east Cairo and that it would link its neighborhoods with those of New Cairo and the New Administrative Capital.

Construction officials in some work sites have briefed the President on the current implementation status of a number of axes and roads. His Excellency stressed the importance of adhering to the time frame and expediting the implementation of these roads and axes so that this network in east Cairo would be finalized and thus linked to Greater Cairo and new cities. This new system would help make a quantum leap with regard to the movement of citizens.
