Friday, 04 June 2021 / 04:47 PM

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a tour of inspection of the Ring Road around Greater Cairo to follow up on the comprehensive development and maintenance works carried out there. The road will be expanded to have 8 traffic lanes in each direction and its efficiency is to be raised. Moreover, all the entrances, exits, and routes on this road will be developed.

It is worth mentioning that bus stations on the ring road, part of the integrated smart transport system that will be applied on highways, will help make a breakthrough in the transportation system and end traffic congestion.

The President had a discussion with those in charge of some of the work sites on the Ring Road.

His Excellency inspected Al-Munib Bridge which will be expanded to consist of 8 lanes for each direction instead of 4. This expansion aims to improve traffic flow and contributes to reducing energy consumption of vehicles, and thus reducing the negative environmental impacts of transport.

The President also inspected the area surrounding Al-Asmarat neighborhood which is to be linked to Al-Shaheed and Shinzo Abe axes. This development work would contribute to improving traffic flow and reducing accident rates.
