Egypt's Sisi Meets President of DRC

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in Niger on Monday with the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Félix Tshisekedi, on the sidelines of the AU's First Mid-Year Coordination Summit in Niamey, Niger.
The President renewed Egypt's determination to continue providing all forms of possible assistance to the DRC and expressed that Egypt looks forward to elevating coordination and political consultation between the two countries.
President Tshisekedi lauded the outstanding friendship and brotherly bonds that the two countries share and confirmed his country's keenness to bolster these ties at all levels, particularly the developmental and technical aspects. This is in line with advancing political relations and maximizing consultation mechanisms and coordination between them.
President Tshisekedi also applauded Egypt's unlimited support to maintain peace and stability in the DRC as well as its diligent diplomatic support in all regional and international fora, reviewing political developments in his country.
President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's deep appreciation for President Tshisekedi's keenness to enhance bilateral ties and valued the DRC's position in support of Egypt on the Nile water issues. He confirmed that Egypt hoped that developments in the DRC would give momentum to economic and social development in the country and stressed that Egypt would continue to support the people of DRC both at the political and developmental levels to ensure that stability is maintained, whether during Egypt's chairmanship of the AU or through the current bilateral cooperation frameworks.
