President El-Sisi Meets British Prime Minister on Sidelines of COP 27

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in Sharm El-Sheikh with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak , on the sidelines of the COP27 meetings. 
The Spokesman for the Presidency said the President welcomed the British Prime Minister's visit to Egypt, being his first foreign visit.The President congratulated Mr. Sunak once again for assuming his role as prime minister and expressed that Egypt looked forward to optimising bilateral cooperation in the coming period, enhancing political coordination and exchanging views on various issues of common interest.
The British prime minister expressed his appreciation for Egypt's successful and distinguished organization of the global climate summit. He also valued the close ties between Egypt and Britain and the unprecedented momentum that bilateral relations have gained over the past years, particularly at the level of economic and trade relations. Mr. Sunak confirmed that Egypt is one of Britain's most important partners in the Middle East, acting as the cornerstone for stability and security in the region.
The meeting also touched on the two countries' joint efforts to support and strengthen climate action at the regional and international levels, as well as ways and prospects to bolster bilateral cooperation at various levels and take advantage of the capabilities available of both sides in this regard. Both sides agreed to continue to enhance mutual and constructive dialogue between the two countries in the coming period.
