President El-Sisi Meets with President of the French Senate

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met this evening in Paris with President of the French Senate Mr Gérard Larcher.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that Mr. Larcher welcomed the President's visit to France and to the Senate headquarters. Mr. Larcher noted the distinguished relations that bind the Egyptian and French peoples and stressed France's keenness to strengthen the partnership between the two countries in various fields, especially at the parliamentary level. .

President El-Sisi expressed his pleasure to be visiting the headquarters of the French Senate. His Excellency also said that he is looking forward to having this visit become a starting point for promoting the distinguished friendly relations between Egypt and France at various levels, especially at the parliamentary level through the exchange of experiences and parliamentary visits between the two countries. These strong relations would contribute to strengthening communication between the two peoples and promoting joint bilateral cooperation.

The Spokesman added that the meeting discussed ways to activate joint cooperation frameworks, develop bilateral relations between the two countries, and boost them towards broader horizons during the next stage, especially in the tourism, cultural and development fields.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on all issues in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. The comprehensive Egyptian vision regarding various challenges facing the region, especially combating terrorism and extremist ideology, and restoring security and stability in countries in crises was also clarified. The President of the French Senate valued Egypt's efforts in this regard, stressing France's support for Egypt and its balanced pivotal role in the Middle East region.
