Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Qaṣr Al-Waṭan, the Presidential palace in Abu Dhabi.
The Spokesman for the Presidency said that after the official reception ceremony, El-Sisi and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed held an expanded session of talks that included the two countries’ delegations. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, underscored the outstanding and special characteristic of the Egyptian- Emirati relations. He lauded Egypt’s pivotal role in the Arab region, stressing that Egypt spares no effort to support Arab and Gulf countries, in particular, and will always remain the cornerstone for security and stability in the Arab world.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s position in support of the UAE on various issues and for the Egyptian expatriates’ contributions and role in numerous sectors and in achieving development in the UAE. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed confirmed the UAE’s commitment to fostering closer bilateral relations with Egypt across all levels so as to realize the common interests of the two countries and their peoples.
The Spokesman added that President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the warm reception he has received and underlined the brotherly bonds, affinity, shared history and common fate the two countries and their peoples share. The President said that he is looking forward to stepping up cooperation between Egypt and the UAE across all areas.
President El-Sisi reiterated the need to continue to work toward achieving Arab unity and solidarity so as to address the challenges facing the Arab region and counter any attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of Arab countries. He emphasized that Egypt would not allow undermining the security and stability of its brothers in the Gulf countries and affirmed that the security of the Gulf is integral to Egypt’s security.
The meeting tackled ways to enhance bilateral relations across all levels, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. There was an alignment in views with regard to the need to strengthen joint efforts to combat terrorism. The two leaders also agreed on the importance of concerted efforts by the international community to reach political settlements to the ongoing crises in a number of countries in the region. These solutions shall preserve the territorial integrity and unity of the conflict-affected countries and the resources of their peoples.
After the talks, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed conferred the "Order of Zayed", the highest order bestowed by the UAE on kings, presidents and leaders, on President El Sisi in recognition of the historic and robust relations that the two countries share and in acknowledgment of President El-Sisi’s role in strengthening and solidifying these relations across all levels.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also witnessed the signing of three agreements and Memoranda of Understanding in the areas of manpower, taxation, and insurance, in addition to an agreement between Egypt’s Sovereign Wealth Fund and the UAE's Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company to launch a joint strategic investment platform between Egypt and the UAE worth $ 20 billion. This agreement aims to offer a new innovative vision for concerted efforts through the implementation of joint strategic investments that render profitable economic return to the two sides, with a focus on vital developmental economic and social projects in the various sectors.
