President El-Sisi Meets with Paris Mayor

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met this afternoon with Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo in Hôtel de Ville, Paris's City Hall.

As stated by the Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, the meeting showcased Egypt’s experience with national mega projects in the past few years and explored cooperation opportunities among Paris, Cairo and new cities across the Egyptian governorates.

The Mayor of Paris welcomed His Excellency in France, stating her aspiration for joint cooperation with the Egyptian government and Cairo’s governorate, especially on the cultural level and services sector. This comes within the framework of historical ties binding both countries and France’s keenness to support Egypt’s developmental efforts through experience exchange and joint investment.

For his part, President El-Sisi stated that the number and diversity of Egypt’s national mega projects are providing multiple areas for joint cooperation when it comes to newly-built cities, especially the New Administrative Capital. Additionally, mutual cooperation is promoted in the sectors of tourism and antiquities in light of the new museums being erected, topped by the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is considered the largest museum in the world. Cooperation is also enhanced on economic and trade levels.

The Spokesman also added that the meeting discussed various regional and international issues of common interest for both parties, especially those related to combating terrorism and extremist thinking.
