Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the representatives of the Qatari Businessmen Association, on the sidelines of launching the first International Manufacturing Convention and Exhibition. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Hala El Saeed and Minister of Trade and Industry Eng. Ahmed Samir.
The Spokesman for the Presidency said that President El-Sisi stated that he was pleased to meet again with the Qatari businessmen after their recent meeting in Doha, reflecting close cooperation between the two countries. The President stressed Egypt’s keenness to develop economic and trade relations with the community of Qatari businessmen and companies and the development of joint investments to support economic growth in the two countries within the joint action to leverage mutual interests and optimal utilization of available opportunities.
President El-Sisi lauded the positive developments witnessed by the economic and trade relations between the two countries recently, noting the various investment opportunities offered by the mega projects being implemented in Egypt, mainly the Suez Canal Area Development, which includes a number of industrial and logistics zones that provide promising opportunities for Qatari companies interested in benefiting from Egypt's strategic location and the free trade agreements that it shares with different continents.
Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani expressed the honor of the members of the Qatari Businessmen Association to meet with the President again, which is a great opportunity to strengthen ties of fraternity and joint cooperation. He looked forward to discussing the possibilities of maximizing cooperation between the countries, particularly with the availability of many fields and promising investment opportunities in Egypt, mainly in the sectors of renewable energy, agriculture, industry and mining.
The heads and representatives of the Qatari companies affirmed their keenness to intensify cooperation with Egypt to achieve the common interests of both sides, reviewing their plans to invest in Egypt and expand ongoing projects in many fields. They also emphasized the importance of revitalizing the role of the joint business council, as well as strengthening communication between representatives of the private sector in the two countries to advance bilateral economic relations to broader horizons that meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
