President El-Sisi Meets Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met, today, with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates. The meeting took place at Qasr Al-Watan in Abu Dhabi, where the ceremonial welcome was held, the two national anthems were played, and the guard of honor was reviewed.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that President El-Sisi and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held bilateral talks. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed his brother, President El-Sisi, as a dear guest in the UAE.

His Highness expressed that the Emirati government and people take pride in the strong historical ties and close relations between Egypt and the UAE in various fields.

His Highness also stressed his profound appreciation for the strategic and pivotal role that Egypt plays under the leadership of the President in protecting Arab national security and defending the causes of the Arab nation.

Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan also commended Egypt’s tireless efforts to consolidate security, stability, and development in the region, reflecting the significant and pivotal role of Egypt on the regional arena.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi also praised the comprehensive development renaissance that Egypt witnessed under the leadership of the President during the past years. This was reflected in the attractive investment climate, enhanced business environment, and mega projects that are being implemented in various parts of Egypt. These projects provide many promising investment opportunities in all sectors, achieving a qualitative leap in all aspects of life and contributing to increasing the keenness of Emirati businessmen to increase their investments in Egypt in light of the significant and serious development they see in the investment climate.

On his part, President El-Sisi expressed his pride in the warm welcome he received, stressing the strong and distinguished relations between Egypt and UAE and Egypt’s keenness to develop close bilateral cooperation and coordination for the good of the two brotherly peoples and the Arab nation.

This shall be achieved by intensifying the pace of bilateral meetings between senior officials from the two countries, periodically, to mutually coordinate on the successive developments currently taking place in the Middle East and to strengthen Arab unity and joint Arab and Islamic action in facing various regional challenges.

The President also stressed that his current visit to the UAE reflects the close and distinguished relations between the two countries that share common destiny and future and supports the bonds of bilateral cooperation at all levels. In this regard, His Excellency expressed the solidarity of Egypt’s government and people with the United Arab Emirates, once again, after the recent terrorist attack, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of civilians.

President El-Sisi stressed that Egypt condemns any terrorist attack committed by the Houthi militia that threaten the security, stability, and safety of the United Arab Emirates and its citizens.

He also stressed Egypt’s support for all measures taken by the UAE to deter any terrorist attack targeting it, pointing out to Egypt's firm position with regard to supporting the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates and the close link between Egyptian national security and that of the UAE.

The Spokesman added that, during the meeting, they discussed various aspects of bilateral relations and held consultations on the latest issues of common interest on the regional arena, especially those in Libya and Yemen. It was agreed that political solutions are the basis for resolving these issues.

In this regard, the President stressed that Egypt maintains a constant position with regard to settling regional crises, which is based mainly on undermining foreign interventions, combating violence and extremist and terrorist groups, and preserving the institutions of the national state. The aim is to restore security and stability in countries that suffer from those crises and ridding them from threats against their regional security.

Moreover, President El-Sisi stressed that the Arab solidarity, unity, and common positions are among the most effective ways to ward off external danger from the Arab world as a whole.

On his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that his country's position is in line with the Egyptian efforts to settle disputes in the region.

His Highness stressed the coherence of the common national security of both countries and that Egypt will always remain the pivotal partner of the UAE in the region.

The two sides affirmed that they will continue to work together in order to confront regional interference and attempts to sow division among the countries of the region and to cooperate to confront the risks and challenges facing the Arab region, especially terrorism and the countries supporting it. His Excellency President El-Sisi stressed that the security of the Gulf countries is directly proportional to Egypt’s national security, emphasizing the inadmissibility of tampering with it, the importance of effectively confronting the threats they face, and the rejection of any practices seeking to destabilize them.
