President El-Sisi Directs Officials to Develop and Expand 6th of October Bridge

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ihab Al-Far, Director of Armed Forces Engineering Authority Advisory Office Major General Ashraf El-Araby, Major General Mohamed Dakroury of the Engineering Authority Advisory Office, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Applied Knowledge Company. For Research and Services Major General Amjad Al-Maghrabj, Assistant Director of road designs at the Engineering Authority Brigadier General Abdel Aziz El-Feki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Koda Marmo for Marble and Granite Dr. Tarek Abdel Hamid, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of El Shemerly for Printing and Publishing Eng. Ahmed El Shemerly.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the status of a number of projects carried out by the Engineering Authority across the Republic, including the New Administrative Capital and its facilities. They further discussed the status of Egypt’s Islamic Cultural Center particularly the designs of its murals and halls as well as Misr Mosque and its interior design especially “the House of Qur’an” hall. In this context, the President gave directives to the officials concerned to have Egypt’s Islamic Cultural Center and Misr Mosque designed in a way reflecting the ancient Egyptian Islamic history throughout the ages.

The status of the National Sports Museum, the headquarters of the Egyptian Olympic Committee and the rest of the headquarters of different sports federations in the New Administrative Capital was also discussed during the meeting. In this regard, the designs of the main entrances to the New Capital and the interior designs of the buildings of the House of Representatives and the Senate were all presented as well.
On another level, the officials discussed the status of of the central bus station.

The meeting also touched on the progress of work in a number of national construction projects, especially those pertaining to roads and axes. These projects include the Nile River axes in Samannoud, Manfalut and Luxor. They fall within the scope of the main integrated network of axes being established on the Nile River to connect its two banks with the aim of reducing traffic congestion and facilitating trade movement.

The plan to expand raise the efficiency of the 6th of October Bridge was also presented. President El-Sisi called for expediting the implementation of this project and expand the bridge as much as possible. This bridge is a main axis linking east and west Cairo. Moreover, the roads below it are to be developed.
