President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Local Development Mr. Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Health and Population Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, and Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ihab Al-Far.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting addressed the status of the national project to develop villages of the Egyptian countryside nationwide.
The President directed that the data related to Haya Karima (Decent Life) Initiative for the Development of Egyptian Villages should be audited, with the aim of providing updated and accurate databases. They would give state agencies access to clear knowledge and vision regarding various aspects and details of the project.
Moreover, the accurate information would promote the implementation efforts on the ground in the villages of the Egyptian countryside. The President stressed that this matter is relevant to improving people’s livelihoods and ensuring the comprehensive development of all services provided to a broad spectrum of people which includes about half of the Egyptian population.
The President directed that the number of medical caravans, mobile clinics and ambulances be doubled in favor of Haya Karima (Decent Life) Initiative. As a result, the comprehensive curative care services provided for citizens in the villages of the Egyptian countryside would be doubled. The President instructed that all health units be developed in the target centers, new hospitals be established and modern medical equipment be provided to them.
Specialized agencies plan concerning the efforts to develop all rural centers across the Republic, especially curative care projects in rural villages, including those related to the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance System were presented. This is in addition to the establishment and development of central hospitals, medical facilities, health units, and mobile health care programs and mechanisms, medical convoys, mobile clinics and ambulances.
The President was also updated on the efforts of the local government sector in this context and the inventory made for service buildings and their requirements in each village. This is done with the aim of establishing a unified complex for government services provided for citizens in Markaz (centers) and villages.
The requirements of replacing and renewing water stations and networks as well as treatment and waste water works in villages were presented. In addition, the engineering model of the country house and the number and size of heavy equipment and machinery that will be part of the implementation of the project were also discussed.
