President El-Sisi Follows-up on Progress of Engineering Authority Projects Nationwide

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the President’s Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Ihab El-Far, Director of the Armed Forces Survey Department Major General Khaled Fawzy, Assistant to the Head of the Engineering Authority for Research and Development Major General Sherif Maziq, Assistant to the Head of the Engineering Authority for the Air Force Major General Tamer Mukhtar, Assistant to the Head of the Engineering Authority for Road Designs Brigadier General Abdel Aziz Al-Feki, and Director of Ibdaa Marble Factory Dr. Tariq Al-Khudairi.
The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting reviewed progress of the implementation of projects carried out by the Engineering Authority across the country.
The President gave directives to focus on localizing the industry and technology for the sectors of construction and infrastructure, given the direct impact on implementation rates and support for the comprehensive development process in the country. This is in addition to rationalizing import, with the participation of the business community in various development sectors.
President El-Sisi was briefed on the progress of a number of construction projects in the New Administrative Capital, especially the Military Academy at the Strategic Command headquarters, as well as the interior design and artwork of the Misr Mosque (Mosque of Egypt) including its halls, particularly Dar El-Quran, in addition to being updated on the status of the Egypt International City for Olympic Games.
The President was also briefed on the progress of the new roads and axes projects implemented nationwide, including the establishment of the Dar Al Salam Axis above the Nile River in Sohag Governorate, with a length of 28 km, as well as developments pertinent to a series of projects that seek to make the optimal use and develop vacant lands on both sides of the roads and axes in Greater Cairo.
The Spokesman added that the President was also briefed on efforts to develop airports in South Sinai Governorate, especially the airports of Sharm El Sheikh, El Tor and St. Catherine, as well as Hurghada Airport. This is in addition to the development of the entrances, roads and axes in Sharm El Sheikh, within the framework of the state’s efforts to raise the efficiency of the city’s infrastructure ahead of hosting the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (COP27) in November.
The meeting also touched on developments pertinent to developing and raising the efficiency of the road and axes network ,within the vicinity of the Cairo Stadium Complex, and linking it to the main axes within its geographic scope.
