The Presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt mourns with great sadness and sorrow the passing of Mrs. Jehan Sadat, the widow of the late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, the hero of war and peace.
She was a great model for the Egyptian woman in supporting her husband at the most difficult and delicate times until he led the country to achieve the historic victory in the glorious October War. This victory has marked a milestone in the modern history of Egypt and restored its pride and dignity.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a decree granting Mrs. Jehan Sadat Order of the Virtues and named “Al-Firdous Axis” (the Axis of Paradise) in her honor.
