Pendant of the Republic

The order was established as per law no. 528/1953 that was later replaced by law no.12/1972.
It is one of the President’s competencies. It shall be granted to the crown princes and heads of governments. It also may be given to Egyptians and foreigners who offer Egypt or humanity invaluable services.
Those who are granted the order shall receive it directly from the President of the Republic as long as it is possible. Those who receive it shall be saluted upon their death.
The order consists of a gold collar on which there are Islamic decorations, one of which is oval and the other is hexagonal. Attached to the collar is a gold pendant on which the word “The Republic” in Arabic is carved. Hanging from the pendant is a trinket in the middle on which there is the hawk, the Republic’s emblem.
