Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from the President of South Africa,Cyril Ramaphosa.
Spokesman for the Presidency Counselor Ahmed Fahmy said the two presidents discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and South Africa in the political, economic and trade fields, within the framework of the two countries' keenness to strengthen the historical and brotherly relations they share, in addition to advancing consultation and coordination on various issues of peace, security and economic development, given the leverage of the two countries to serve African interests as a whole.
They also discussed a number of international developments, especially the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, taking into account its negative repercussions on the economic, food and energy conditions in developing countries in the world, especially in Africa, as well as developments of the most important regional issues and the files on the agenda of the African Union. This is in light of the leading role of the two countries at the continental level, and the continuous coordination between them in this regard.
