Introduction

The Egyptian state has adopted a strategic vision to enhance Egypt’s leadership as one of the best global tourist destinations, especially that the tourism industry is one of the main pillars of the national economy. Egypt’s rich and varied natural, human and archaeological resources, heritage, and unique cultural legacy are all factors making Egypt a great tourist destination.

Egypt has made the best use of those resources and provided distinct and advanced infrastructure and services to increase Egypt's competitiveness, encourage investment opportunities, enhance the skills of human resources, and use modern technology methods.

Efforts have been made to promote tourism locally and internationally, attract the largest number of tourists from different markets, encourage domestic tourism, and raise tourism and archaeological awareness. To that end, archaeological excavations have been carried out, projects to secure, restore, and maintain antiquities have been implemented, and museums have been established across Egypt.
