The Energy Axis

The Egyptian State as adopted a comprehensive strategy to overhaul the energy sector, stemming from its ambitious vision to become a regional hub for the trade and circulation of energy and to attract foreign investments. It is capitalizing on its strategic position and the natural resources it enjoys as well as the abundance of new and renewable sources of energy and the assets and infrastructure that have been developed and upgraded over the past seven years. This vital sector is witnessing unprecedented reforms and leaps at the level of securing supplies, sustainability and sound management. This is in addition to boosting efforts toward achieving new oil discoveries, establishing new plants for the generation of electricity, and diversifying the sources of their production. This shall demonstrate Egypt’s ability to surmount the formidable challenges it faced while trying to secure energy for the local market during an earlier period and contribute to supporting the comprehensive development process underway across all fields.
