The Suez Canal Axis

The Egyptian State has unleashed a comprehensive and integrated strategy, the features of which were drawn with the starting signal launched by His Excellency, President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for the digging of a new navigational waterway for the Suez Canal and the deepening of the existing one, in a parallel line with the entire Suez Canal Development Project and the establishment of ports and numerous industrial zones. This has contributed to raising the canal’s international profile and promoting its position from a shipping route to a global industrial and logistic hub to supply transport and trade. This is in addition to the automation of services offered to the shipping lines, leveraging the canal’s assets, and introducing new equipment to keep pace with the progress taking place in the field of maritime transport and the orientation of international arsenals toward building gigantic ships. This enables the canal to address, with success, resilience and professionalism, international challenges, urgent variables and the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on the movement of international trade.
