Speech by President El-Sisi on Occasion of July 23, 1952 Revolution Anniversary

"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”

The great people of Egypt,
Today we celebrate the 74th anniversary of the glorious July Revolution, just days after commemorating the great June 30 Revolution. Recalling these national occasions is not merely a celebration, but an opportunity to renew our loyalty and appreciation for our heroes, to evaluate our experiences, and to draw lessons and insights to avoid mistakes, build upon our achievements, and propel our beloved Egypt towards a brighter future, befitting its esteemed rank among nations.

The principles of the glorious July Revolution shone as a guiding light for developing nations, and sparking the flame of liberation throughout our Arab nation and African continent. It is because of it, Egypt reclaimed its sovereignty and firmly established its national independence, one that remains unshakeable and cannot be compromised.

To this day, we continue to draw lessons and insights from the glorious July Revolution—particularly those centered on achieving social justice and building a strong state. Yet, our engagement goes beyond conscious reflection; we actively take measures and constructively build upon the successes of that experience. We also learn from the shortcomings of its journey, ensuring that we continue to construct the New Republic with deep understanding and foresight—a modern, advanced, and strong Egypt, fully capable of safeguarding the rights of its people and protecting its national assets.

Brothers and sisters,
Since 2014, Egypt has forged ahead with unyielding resolve and unwavering conviction, embarking on a journey of comprehensive development and progress worthy of its stature and its great people. We confronted and defeated terrorism without ever halting the process of construction. We cemented the freedom of belief, erected houses of worship, and laid down a modern infrastructure. We cleared slums, built new cities, reclaimed deserts, and established both conventional and renewable power plants.
The State intensified its efforts to boost oil and gas discoveries, thereby reinforcing its economic security and cementing its position as a regional energy hub.
In the same vein, we have worked assiduously to develop our education and healthcare systems. The State has inaugurated many world-class museums, reintroducing our ancient civilization to the world in its most glorious image. Tourism has received dedicated attention to reinforce Egypt's standing as a premier global destination, even as we strive relentlessly to localize industry and achieve the progress and prosperity to which we aspire.
We launched the national project, 'Decent Life' so that millions of Egyptians may live in a dignified environment worthy of their human dignity—one that embodies the vision of a modern state that blends strength with justice, development with freedom, and steadfastly carves its path toward the future with unwavering confidence.
Egypt has forged ahead on its path, despite the harsh circumstances, immense pressures, and unprecedented challenges surrounding it—all within a region turbulent with wars and successive crises that have, most regrettably, ravaged many of its nations.
Despite the severe economic losses incurred by the Egyptian state due to factors entirely beyond its control, Egypt has pressed forward, remaining steadfast in its approach and resolute on its path. It refuses to stray from its ultimate goal: building the future and safeguarding the nation’s assets.
I also reaffirm that the State’s success in preserving Egypt’s security and stability—and in overcoming the crises and challenges we have faced and continue to confront—would never have been possible without the resolve of the Egyptian people. It is their tireless work, dedication, patience, deep awareness of surrounding circumstances, and unwavering commitment to the stability of the State that have stood firm against every threat targeting Egypt.
On this occasion, I extend a well-deserved tribute to the proud Egyptian people, their valiant Armed Forces, the civil police, and all state institutions for standing united in the face of challenges and holding firm to the identity of the Egyptian state.
I also pay special tribute to our righteous martyrs, who ascended in defense of the homeland, serving as beacons that illuminate our path of glory and dignity.
Allow me to reaffirm that, by the grace of Allah and through the strength of its great people, no one can ever harm Egypt or compromise its assets. It is guarded by divine providence, shielded by the awareness of its people, and safeguarded by the power of its soldiers—remaining, now and forever, an impenetrable fortress and a steadfast cornerstone of security and stability.

Ladies and gentlemen,
In light of the painful and harsh circumstances currently sweeping the region, I wish to convey two messages today:
The first is a message of peace: from a strong and peace-loving Egypt, I call upon the nations of the world to exert every possible effort to stop wars and conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, and to counter the destructive impulses aimed at perpetuating hatred, bloodshed, and destruction. I emphasize that we must not relent in our earnest and relentless pursuits to achieve a just peace—one that guarantees stability and prosperity for all peoples. For the world has room to accommodate everyone, and history has proven that violence only breeds more violence, leading to a single, inevitable outcome: ruin and destruction.
I reaffirm Egypt's unwavering position in rejecting any aggression against Arab nations. I call upon all parties concerned to cease the use of force, exercise self-restraint, halt escalation, and return to the negotiating table—upholding the value of peace and safeguarding the rights of peoples.
The second message is one of hope and optimism, addressed to the great Egyptian people. I assure you that what lies ahead, by Allah’s grace and guidance, is far better. We are working with the utmost dedication to build a promising future guided by a scientific vision. We confront corruption in all its forms and constantly strive for goodness and peace, as Allah promised: ‘Indeed, we will not waste the reward of those who work righteousness’.
In conclusion, I offer my sincere tribute to the leaders of the glorious July Revolution, to Egypt’s proud army, its valiant police force, and to every Egyptian hand that builds and develops our homeland.
