President El-Sisi Participates in Tripartite Summit in Amman, Jordan

A tripartite summit was held today in Amman, Jordan, between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Prime Minister of Iraq, Mr. Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the summit tackled means to enhance joint trilateral cooperation in various fields, especially those related to energy, electrical connectivity, infrastructure and food. Consultation and coordination on developments regarding the political and security situations in the region and efforts to combat terrorism have been made during the summit.

The three leaders also addressed aspects of enhancing economic, trade and investment cooperation, with the aim of establishing the next phase of strategic integration between the three countries on the basis of common development goals.

During the summit, the President affirmed Egypt's readiness to offer its experience and expertise in all fields to its brothers in Jordan and Iraq. His Excellency also stressed the importance of establishing joint development projects to be implemented according to a tight schedule to rapidly help improve the living standards of citizens and strengthening political and security cooperation paths.

The Spokesman added that the summit touched on the most prominent regional issues and files of common interest. The President stressed the importance of concerted efforts to face the challenges that threaten stability and security in the region. The summit also tackled the developments of the Palestinian issue. The three leaders affirmed the support of the Palestinian people to obtain their full legitimate rights in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

The three leaders also discussed the situation in Syria, Libya and Yemen. They emphasized the importance of intensifying mutual coordination during the coming period to arrive at a comprehensive political settlement. A settlement must be reached to preserve the unity, independence and territorial integrity of the Arab countries, thus, putting an end to the human suffering experienced by these peoples during the past years.
