Egypt's Flag Now

In October 1984, after President Mubarak assumed power; this flag with its red, white and black horizontal bands has become the national flag.

The flag colors are:

Red at the top

Being the most vivid color, it expresses power and hope. It also symbolizes the martyr's blood.

White in the middle

It represents the bright future ahead of the Country. In the middle of this white band, there is the golden eagle -one of the most powerful birds. 

Black at the bottom

Being a color denoting oppression and occupation, it represents the days during which the Egyptians fought against injustice.
