The First Egyptian Banknote with a Watermark

In 1930, the first banknote with a watermark was issued. On April 23, 1930, the National Bank of Egypt issued a new 1-pound banknote with the watermark of the Sphinx. One of its sides bears the image of the King Tutankhamun statue, while the other side bears the image of Al-Mansur Qalawun Mosque.
