The New Design

In 1968, the Central Bank started to use the security thread and the image of the Seated Scribe is used as a watermark. The 1-pound paper was issued carrying the picture of Qaytbay Mosque surrounded by Arabic inscription on one side. On the other side, there is the picture of the big Abu Simbel Temple, next to it there is the small temple and on the top there are Pharaonic decorations.
