Misr Fertilizers Production Company MOPCO Development

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi opened the expansions made at Misr Fertilizers Production Company MOPCO complex in Damietta, which produces 1% of the global production of urea fertilizer annually.

These expansions, which include new factories and the stages of operating the third plant, are important to the fertilizer industry in Egypt. It contributes to increasing local production to meet the needs of the Egyptian farmers in the framework of the agricultural development process witnessed by the state. It also contributes to increasing exports of Egyptian fertilizers, in addition to providing job opportunities and diversifying income sources, especially for the people of Damietta Governorate. It also represents a distinguished model to maximize the added value of using natural gas.

Expansions in the company's complex also contribute to producing 1.3 million tons of urea annually, making the total production of the complex to date two million tons annually of urea fertilizer. It also produces 120 thousand tons annually of urea.
