Aswan Railway Station

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, witnessed the opening of the project of the upgrading and development of Aswan Railway Station. Development work started on 7/12/2016 and was completed on 7/1/2017 to urgently restore the efficiency of the station’s components. The included the following:
• The main building. It includes the main entrance to the station, 2 sub entrances, passenger hall and VIP hall.
• The development of 3 passenger terminals and 6 canopies
• Waiting areas in Terminal 1
• Administrative building on Terminal 1
• Station management building
• Block building
• All networks and facilities within the terminals (water - electricity - sanitation - communications - fire).
• Station fences.
The second phase of the development of the administrative, residential and technical facilities in the station was implemented. The second phase includes:
• Acts of lifting waste and removing random buildings.
• The development of an existing building in good construction condition.
• The construction of 2 new buildings, each of them on an area of 450 square meters (ground floor + 2 floors) that include (workshops and warehouses - administrative offices - hotel accommodation - buffets and restaurants).
• The development of the current tunnel and increasing its length to fully serve the sidewalks and facilitate the transportation of passengers from one terminal to another and from outside the station to the rest of the terminals.
• The development of 2 bridges to secure the crossing of Aswan residents from the east to the west of the station and vice versa without passing on the railways.
