Sarabium Siphon

The length of the Sarabium siphon is 420 meters, with the aim of transporting water under the new Suez Canal, providing irrigation water from the Sinai Canal and ensuring its access from the bottom of the new channel to farmers in the east of the new Suez Canal and Sinai. The siphon irrigates from 70 to 100 thousand feddans. It aims to transfer one million and 250 thousand cubic meters of drained water daily to the east of the canal.

It also aims to provide irrigation and drinking water for the Sinai in the east of the lakes and east of the Suez Canal, in addition to addressing the problem of water shortage in the east of the Suez Canal. The project helps in establishing many economic projects on the axis of the new Suez Canal and to deliver water to the people in the village of Al-Amal in the eastern lake region. It is the largest water project implemented in the Middle East, where it passes under the new Suez Canal and it consists of 4 huge Septic tanks to receive and push the water, with a depth of 60 meters of each.
