President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi gave the starting signal for the power plant project which will be built on an area of ​​85 feddans and will be made in two phases. The two phases are being implemented with "Air Cooled Condenser" technology to generate electrical energy.

The project aims to make West Damietta gas station work with the combined cycle system, within the five-year plan projects 2012-2017 to support the electrical network to meet the needs of the growing loads and to achieve development in all areas. It will also support the electrical network, raise its efficiency and provide electrical nutrition to all state institutions and citizens.
