Al-Fangary Axis Development Project

- President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi witnessed the opening ceremony of Al-Fangary axis. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the part of the project of high priority was implemented; a 1.5 km bridge was completed extending from Al Mokhaym Al Daem road in front of Al-Azhar University side gate to Ard El Maared area. This bridge was built over at the Autostorad and Mamdouh Salem Road, extending traffic lanes on both sides of the bridge.

- The renewal of Al-Fangary Axis contributed to reducing car traffic in Orouba, El-Nasr, Fangary and Salah Salem axes, which was done by the Greater Cairo Reconstruction Authority in order to reduce the volume of traffic in the longitudinal axes in Cairo and, at the same time, reduce travel distance between East and West Cairo. In the first phase, the South Fangary Bridge is considered a main transverse axis in Cairo to link between Road El Farag Axis in El-Moshir Axis in the 5th settlement in the east to facilitate traffic flow.

- The opening of Fangary Axis comes within the framework of the modification and development of the traffic system in general. Fangary Axis will reduce traffic in El-Nasr, Al-Orouba and El-Khalifa El-Maamoun, resulting in positive effects on all traffic aspects in East Cairo and its heart. This comes within the framework of the municipalities continuity to develop and modernize the road network, devise new methods in the engineering of roads and develop ways for ideal engineering treatments within the framework of short and long-term plans to get out of traffic problems in Greater Cairo.
