President El-Sisi Meets PM, Ministers of Higher Education and Health and Several Officials

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population Dr. Hala Zayed, Presidential Adviser for Health and Prevention Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, and Chairman of the Unified Medical Procurement Authority Major General Dr. Bahaa El-Din Zidan, as well as Director of the Medical Services Department Major General Dr. Magdy Amin.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President was updated on the current situation of the spread of the novel coronavirus since the emergence of the crisis at the beginning of this year until now and the second wave of the pandemic as well as the infection rates we are bracing for nationwide. The latest research reports on the number of cases and the expected infection rate in the next stage were also addressed. The measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the virus and the readiness of hospitals and medical teams in the country in this context, were further discussed.

The latest developments at the global level regarding the vaccine research carried out so far together with Egypt's efforts in this regard, were touched upon. The President directed that the work of the National COVID-19 Health and Research Advisory Committee be supported with the provision of additional cadres from all competent authorities to meet in a permanent in session to study contracting to import the best vaccinations and vaccines.
