President El-Sisi Follows Upon Construction and Engineering Status of Engineering Authority Projects

President El-Sisi held a meeting today with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ihab Al-Far, Assistant Chairman of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Khaled Mubarak, Director of Armed Forces Engineering Authority Advisory Office Major General Ashraf El-Araby, Assistant Director of road designs in the Armed Forces’ Engineering Authority Brigadier General Abdel Aziz El-Feki.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the implementation and engineering status of a number of projects carried out by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority across Egypt. Construction works in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) top the list of projects that should be carried out; it includes districts, centers and establishments, preceded by Egypt’s Islamic Cultural Center, the People’s Square, the Memorial, International City of Arabian Horses “Marabet”, central bus station, and train stations, as well as entrances and exits of the New Administrative Capital. Furthermore, coordination in planning the main roads within the NAC was further included.

His Excellency was briefed on the latest construction updates regarding the diplomatic quarter that is planned to encompass the accredited diplomatic community in Egypt, including foreign embassies, consulates, and headquarters and offices of international and regional organizations, as well as all related comprehensive services.

The President gave instructions to continue work in the New Administrative Capital within the set time frame and construction schedules in order to comprehensively complete work. The President emphasized that attention should be given to green spaces and eminently civilized designs within the New Administrative Capital in order for it to reflect the image of the new Egyptian state.

The meeting also discussed the work progress of a number of national construction projects, including the implementation status of providing the latest construction and engineering equipment linked to the first phase of developing 1500 Villages, a part of the national Project to develop the Egyptian countryside across Egypt. In this context, the engineering designs of ideal countryside homes in the Egyptian villages were showcased within the framework of “Haya Karima” (Decent Life) Initiative.

The implementation status of “Mamsha Ahl Masr” (Walkway for the people of Egypt) on the River Nile in Cairo was discussed. The meeting also addressed Greater Cairo axes and roads network and various neighborhoods, which would significantly reduce burdens on citizens by ensuring the best possible traffic flow, allowing for fast movement of traffic and reducing pollution.

His Excellency was updated, as well, on the plans to develop the 4.5km area in East Cairo, which includes Ezbet El-Haggana. In this regard, the President instructed to continue efforts to fully develop this area, elevating the current living standards of all inhabitants of the area, especially when it comes to roads and services and to rename this area “Madinat Al-Amal” (City of Hope), thus reflecting the State’s endeavors to make a change for the better.
