President El-Sisi Meets the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Supply and Agriculture

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister, Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhi, and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Al-Sayed El-Quseir. The meeting was also attended by the Director-General of the National Service Projects Organization of the Armed Forces, Major General Walid Abul-Magd.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the meeting reviewed the status of the strategic food commodities and followed-up on their availability in the markets nationwide.

The status of the strategic stock of all basic food commodities of the state was reviewed, particularly wheat, rice, sugar, oil, meat, poultry and fish. There was a confirmation that there is no problem with providing these commodities to the citizens, within the context of the state’s previous planning to maintain the continuity of their strategic stockpile for a period of no less than an average of 6 months.

President El-Sisi gave directives to maintain the continuity of the state’s strategic stockpile of the basic food commodities and to follow-up their market prices. This aims to fulfil the citizens’ needs in the appropriate quantities and prices.

The meeting also reviewed the state’s efforts to expand fertilizers' production, given their significance as one of the most important inputs affecting agricultural production and food security.

President El-Sisi gave directives to enhance the fertilizers’ production system and make them available in the local market, in line with the state’s plans for agricultural production and for the horizontal and vertical expansions of reclaimed lands to cover food needs.
