President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sameh Shoukry, Director of General Intelligence Service, and Director of Qatar’s State Security Mr. Abdullah Al-Khulaifi.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the President a message from the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani. It included an invitation for His Excellency to visit Doha and communicated the Amir’s aspiration to promote discussions between the two countries on ways to develop bilateral relations and talks on the latest developments in the regional and international situation to coordinate positions on the tackled issues in a way that serves the aspirations of the two countries.
The Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal and strategic role under the leadership of president El-Sisi in protecting the Arab national security and defending the Arab nation’s issues. He also praised the Egyptian efforts and tireless endeavors to consolidate security, stability, and development at the regional level.
For his part, the President asked the Qatari Minister to convey his greetings to Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, affirming that Egypt welcomes the recent developments in Egyptian-Qatari relations. In this regard, President El-Sisi expressed his aspiration to achieve progress in various fields in a manner that serves the goals and interests of the two countries and peoples while preserving the security and stability of the Arab region.
President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to achieve cooperation, construction, and support for the Arab solidarity as a firm strategic approach to its policy within a framework of mutual respect, common interest, and sincere intentions. The President further stressed that Egypt focuses its efforts on achieving peace and development for the peoples of the two countries and joins forces to ward off dangers from the rest of the Arab nation and safeguard its national security.
During the meeting, it was agreed to intensify joint consultation and coordination between Egypt and Qatar, including the exchange of visits by senior officials during the coming period. The aim is to enhance our bilateral relationship in all areas and at the level of joint Arab action in order to achieve construction, development, and peace and preserve the Arab national security.
