President El-Sisi Meets with PM, Ministers and Officials

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Planning and Local Development Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Finance Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Local Development Mr. Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Social Solidarity Ms. Nevine Al-Kabbaj, Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Major General Mohamed Amin, and Assistant to the Chairman of the Engineering Authority for the project of developing 1500 villages Major General Engineer Ashraf Hosny.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the executive plan for the development of the villages in the Egyptian countryside, within the framework of “Decent Life” Initiative.

President El-Sisi gave directives for directly contacting the residents of the first phase of the project, which includes 1500 villages nationwide. These directives would help the government accurately know the actual needs and requirements of the citizens and their opinions regarding the development of their regions, thus unifying the efforts of the state agencies and making them more effective and focused.

President El-Sisi also stressed the importance of managing the administrative distribution of government services within the target centers and villages in a modern and combined manner in order to facilitate the procedures for the citizens. His Excellency also added that the services should be electronically linked to the central ministries in the New Administrative Capital so that these villages would benefit from the mechanization, digitization and modernization of the State’s services.

The Spokesman added that the meeting discussed the details of the executive steps of the first phase of the national project that aims to raise the efficiency of 1500 villages nationwide. The presentation tackled the development of the infrastructure, including water, electricity, sanitation, canal lining, roads, … etc. In addition to the infrastructure development, other social programs and services are to be provided to the residents in the sectors of health and education, among others. The role and responsibility of all concerned agencies involved in implementing the project and the project’s time frame were also presented.
