President El-Sisi Meets with PM, Ministers and Officials

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population Dr. Hala Zayed, Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Deen, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management Major General Dr. Bahaa El-Din Zidan, and Director of the Medical Services Department of the Armed Forces Major General Dr. Magdy Amin Mubarak.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the current situation of the spread of COVID-19 locally and internationally since the beginning of the pandemic until now. The current measures taken by the government also were discussed, taking into consideration the fact that the health sector has gained experience in dealing with the first and second waves of the pandemic. In this context, the President was briefed on the health sector's preparedness efforts to contain the spread virus as well as the developments concerning the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines among the citizens and workers in various sectors in the country.

His Excellency directed the officials concerned to continue the awareness programs regarding the precautionary measures taken to prevent
infection with the virus for all citizens. With that, the balanced approach adopted by the state since the start of the pandemic will be maintained.

In this context, President El-Sisi also directed the officials concerned to provide any additional funds that may be required for importing the vaccines and establish partnerships with various foreign bodies to cooperate in producing COVID-19 vaccine locally. Thus, self-sufficiency will be achieved in this regard.
