President El-Sisi Meets with the PM and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Dr. Assem El-Gazzar.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed the status of the national projects of the Ministry of Housing carried out nationwide, particularly in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) and new cities as well as the road, utility, and housing sectors.

The President directed that all necessary services be provided in the new urban communities and that the projects be executed to the highest standards. His Excellency further stressed the importance of increasing dependence on local products with high quality and developing all current roads surrounding the national housing projects nationwide. Hence, these projects would keep pace with the comprehensive development process represented by the new residential and urban communities. With that, the image of the new Egyptian state would be enhanced, thus matching its status and civilization.

Regarding the development and establishment of the new cities, the Minister of Housing pointed out the current status of the facilities, buildings, and services, as well as the scheduled completion date for the work carried out in the New Aswan City, which includes a tourist walkway, beach garden, and open and Roman theaters. The Minister also presented the progress of construction works in the New Mansoura City, particularly the New Mansoura University and International School as well as El-Galala City including the new towers area.

The meeting discussed the construction work in the NAC and its residential neighborhoods as well as the government district, financial and business district, hotel towers, the Green River, and the tallest iconic tower in Africa, as well as the work on basic facilities. Furthermore, the Minister of Housing stated the progress of work in New El-Alamein City along with its projects, including the towers, the Heritage City, the Latin Quarter, the recreation area, roads, and Al-Alamein International University (AIU).

President El-Sisi examined the ongoing projects for the development of historic Cairo aiming to restore the civilized image of this area; therefore, it would be a tourist, recreational, and cultural attraction. The ongoing development process in Magra El-Oyoun Fence was also addressed.

In addition, the President inspected the status of the development of the main road sectors in the North Coast, including the Alexandria-Matrouh Coastal Road, which will be developed and expanded to encompass 6 lanes per direction. In this context, the President emphasized that all the safety factors be ensured on this road, adding that the widest traffic lanes should be built to accommodate the heavy traffic on the road.

Dr. Assem El Gazzar highlighted the efforts made by the Ministry of Housing with regard to wastewater treatment plants, which would contribute to planting tree forests.
