President El-Sisi Meets with PM and Minister of Agriculture

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Mr. Al-Sayed El-Quseir, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Engineer Mostafa El-Sayyad.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed a number of national projects carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture.
In this context, the President was briefed on the current situation for developing El-Zahraa Stud to raise pure breeds of Egyptian-Arabian horses. It is one of the most famous thoroughbred horse farms in the world.
In this context, the President called for strengthening efforts to develop El-Zahraa Stud in partnership with the most prestigious international and local expertise in this field.
The Minister of Agriculture also clarified that several laboratories of the Animal Health Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture have been approved by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) to be global reference laboratories.
The latest developments of the meat production and industry system were also presented. In this regard, President El-Sisi directed that support be provided for this sector by providing additional funding of EGP 10 billion for all livestock and meat-industry-related projects.
Furthermore, the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture to upgrade the poultry industry was presented. It was added that Egypt is self-sufficient in poultry and there are about 3 million workers in this sector.
The President directed that a higher committee be formed to organize the poultry industry system and to upgrade, support and coordinate its policies in partnership with the Union of Poultry Producers and the private sector.
