President El-Sisi Meets With PM, Minister of Trade and Head of A.F. Engineering Authority Head

President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Trade and Industry Ms. Nevine Gamea, and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Staff Major General Ehab El-Far.

As stated by the Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, the meeting discussed the presidential initiatives projects aimed to create job opportunities especially in the industrial complexes across Egypt.

The President hence called for providing all the needed facilities regarding the contracting procedures to obtain a unit in the industrial complexes. Therefore, the Ministry of Trade and Industry is to finish all the licenses and administrative procedures and issue the commercial registry for contractors. In addition, the President called for providing credit facilities to ease the purchasing of machineries and equipment to support young investors in medium and small industries. This will contribute to promoting industrial development in Egypt by increasing local production in different governorates within these industrial complexes presenting all the main services needed.

Consequently, Ms. Nevine Gamea presented the current situation of the industrial complexes across the Republic, explaining the basic criteria in choosing the target different industrial activities. The criteria are based on the job opportunities it would yield – either direct or indirect- in addition to the competitive potentials of the governorates as well as the needs of the areas where these complexes are established. The criteria also would support integration between large and small scale projects to enhance the investment climate and would contribute to achieving development plans.

The Minister also presented the results of “Turathuna Exhibition for Handicrafts and Heritage Arts, 2020. The President, accordingly, gave directives for studying the potential of holding the fair more than once during the year across different governorates. This is part of an integrated vision to revive the initiatives of the heritage industries sector which includes holding competitions for manufacturers to choose the best products, within the framework of a national plan aimed to upgrade the various productive sectors.

The Minister of Trade and Industry also presented the various programs aimed to support small, medium and micro enterprises partnering with “Tahya Misr” fund. The financing programs target a diversified group of projects from all categories and in different governorates. The main target is to increase the income of the most vulnerable categories: youth, people with special needs, women breadwinners, and others in different fields.
