President El-Sisi Meets with Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Advisor to the President for Health and Prevention Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Deen.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that, during the meeting, efforts made by the state to deal with the coronavirus and to prepare for any possible second wave were presented.

President El-Sisi gave directives to the government for ensuring coordination between the state agencies to draw lessons from Egypt's experience in combating the coronavirus since its outbreak. Precautionary measures during the upcoming period will be taken to prepare for any possible second wave; awareness campaigns will be intensified, especially that the new academic year is about to begin.

In this context, Dr. Taj El-Deen presented the rates of the active and recovered cases in Egypt and the successful and continuous efforts made by the state in this regard. These efforts are represented in developing hospitals, establishing mobile clinics, applying the procedures of coronavirus testing, isolation and coping with the current situation, as well as constantly updating medical treatment protocols and national research aimed to develop coronavirus vaccines.
