Tuesday, 16 November 2021 / 04:42 PM

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Deen.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the follow-up meeting discussed the current epidemiological situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus nationwide. It also discussed the current measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the virus and the mass vaccination campaigns that have been mounted.

In this regard, Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Deen presented the state’s efforts to equip all medical facilities, pointing out that there is an alternative plan for the places and hospitals receiving critical cases that need intensive care and respirators. He also stressed that the epidemiological situation in Egypt is under control even as winter season is underway and the number of Covid-19 cases is relatively escalating during the fourth wave of the pandemic.

The President directed that more mass vaccination campaigns be held and procedures be eased to facilitate citizens' access to vaccines, especially as a substantial number of vaccines of assured quality and different types are currently available in Egypt.

The President also directed that awareness programs continue to be provided for all categories of citizens with regard to the precautionary measures taken to ensure Covid-19 infection prevention, particularly in crowded places, such as government departments, universities and schools, in order to maintain the balanced path that the state has taken during the pandemic.
