President El-Sisi Meets with Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din.

The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting followed-up on the executive position of a number of different national health initiatives, as well as the current situation regarding the coronavirus.

In this context, Dr. Taj El-Din offered an overview of the epidemiological situation of the spread of the coronavirus nationwide, highlighting the noticeable decrease in monitoring cases of coronavirus infection in general. He confirmed that most of the diagnosed cases suffer from simple symptoms without complications.

The President directed for the continuation of awareness and vaccination campaigns through vaccination centers spread nationwide, while also facilitating access to booster doses.

With regard to various national health initiatives, the President was briefed on the developments of the initiative to end waiting lists for surgical operations for critical cases, where he gave directives to optimize the capabilities available at all institutions of the medical system, whether affiliated with the Ministry of Health or university hospitals.

President El-Sisi also followed up on work progress of the initiative to diagnose and treat women’s tumors and the latest developments in providing the relevant state-of-the-art equipment. This is in addition to efforts to prevent poliomyelitis, stressing that awareness campaigns should be strengthened in order to ensure that all newborns are to be vaccinated against poliomyelitis and have access to booster doses.

Dr. Taj El-Din reviewed the latest developments of the executive position of the national project for the manufacturing and assembly of plasma derivatives, while also continuing to establish assembly centers all over the Republic.

The President was also briefed on the executive position of the Medical City project, and efforts to complete the localization of advanced pharmaceutical industries throughout it, particularly medicines that rely on using biotechnology and the manufacture of raw materials.
