President El-Sisi Meets the Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Presidential Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din.

The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the follow-up meeting discussed the developments of a number of initiatives in the health and medical care sector. The President directed the development of an integrated strategy to develop the nursing sector so as to support and train health care staff. These steps are to complement the state’s efforts in the field of health care.

The President was briefed on the global epidemiological map and its impact on the situation in Egypt. He reviewed the national preventive plans to limit the spread of epidemic diseases in the country and the strategy of dealing with detectable cases by providing all means of care and treatment.

Regarding the epidemiological situation of the spread of the coronavirus nationwide, Dr. Tag El-Din stated that there has been noticeable and continuous decrease in the number of cases in general and that most of the diagnosed cases suffer from minor symptoms without complications.

President El-Sisi directed the continuation of preventive awareness programs and vaccination campaigns for citizens through vaccine centers spread nationwide. He also directed that easy access to booster doses be provided and Egypt's vaccine manufacturing system be fostered to ensure continuous availability.

Dr. Tag El-Din reviewed efforts to develop the organ transplant system in Egypt as well as the drug system to ensure the provision of all essential medicines in all treatment institutions.
