President El-Sisi Meets Minister of Youth and Sports and Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs

President El-Sisi held a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, and Presidential Advisor for Financial Affairs Major General Mohamed Amin.

As stated by the Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, the meeting discussed the execution of plans and projects carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports across the country.

During the meeting, the Minister of Youth and Sports presented the activities and projects, including the National Youth Strategy, carried out by the Ministry across the country. Additionally, the Ministry’s efforts in the field of sports facilities and edifices in Egypt, were also showcased.

The Minister also presented the comprehensive development plan of Cairo Stadium Authority together with the executive steps taken to develop the Sports City in Al-Salam City, east of Port Said. The Sports City includes a modern stadium along with a number of sports and entertainment facilities, which would be built in accordance with the latest development models to be effectively and efficiently used. Current operations in Egypt International City for Olympic Games and “Marabet” Project (City of Arabian Horses) were also discussed as they both represent a complete, integrated and fully-serviced sports venue, an edifice that is designed according to the highest international standards.

The President, hence, instructed to build and develop infrastructure facilities and establishments for the sports system across Egypt according to the current comprehensive approach that integrates with the projects carried out by the State. This is done in a manner that would qualify Egypt to own the needed capabilities to host the major international sports tournaments. Additionally, this boosts health and social benefits, thus bringing an added value to the sports system in Egypt through spreading the culture of playing sports among all Egyptians.

His Excellency also directed to allow the community to use the Cairo Stadium Authority and its annexed sports facilities upon its rehabilitation and update, to connect them with all nearby axes and to develop all unused spaces for investment, economic and social usage.

The Minister presented the current executive position of a number of projects conducted by the Ministry, including developing a number of youth facilities across the country. They include youth centers, youth cities, civil educational centers and talents discovery locations. Additionally, youth programs and activities will be upgraded within these facilities and turned into community service centers.

The Spokesman added that the President also looked over the latest developments of the National Youth Strategy 2021-2026 and its vision. This strategy aims to develop the sectors of youth and sports through running programs and projects that support providing youth and sports services across the country and to further strengthen the concept of sports investment and proper usage of all assets.

The Minister showcased the most prominent Egyptian sporting accomplishments during last year, ones that reflected the immense development of the Egyptian team and individual sports. These achievements were also demonstrated in Egypt’s hosting of various numbers of sports events during this time across all international, Arab and African levels.
