President El-Sisi Showcases National Project for Manufacturing and Collecting Plasma Derivatives

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Mr. Raimon Grífols and Mr. Victor Grífols, Co-CEOs of Grifols for the collection and manufacture of plasma derivatives, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Health and Population Dr. Hala Zayed, Presidential Adviser for Health and Prevention Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Chairman of the Unified Medical Procurement Authority Major General Dr. Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Deputy Minister of Health for Pharmaceutical Affairs Dr. Tamer Essam, Director General of the National Service Projects Organization Major General Mostafa Amin and General Director of the International Medical Center Dr. Mostafa Abou Hatab, as well as Director of the Medical Services Department Major General Dr. Magdy Amin.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting addressed the executive general plan of the national project for the manufacture and collection of plasma derivatives in Egypt, which will be carried out in partnership with the Spanish company "Grifols" which has vast, long-standing experience in this field at the global level.

During the meeting, the President directed that the implementation of the project should be expedited and the schedule be tightened, which represents a huge addition to the series of national projects concerned with the health of citizens by localizing the technology of manufacturing and collecting plasma in Egypt and optimally carrying it out according to the highest international standards. This is in addition to the transfer of the company's experience with regard to the management of centers and logistics of tracking plasma starting from the stage of the collection to production, thus working efficiently in this vital field that has a direct impact on the health and safety of citizens.

The President also directed that the plasma derivatives collection centers be established immediately in Egypt and an effective and accurate mechanism should be set up to ensure a high-quality performance in cooperation with the Spanish company, stressing that this project is high on the priority list at the state level.

For his part, officials of the Spanish company "Grifols" expressed their honor to meet the President and welcomed cooperation with Egypt in the field of collecting and manufacturing plasma derivatives, transferring expertise, localizing technology and developing research centers in this field. Meanwhile, Egypt is pursuing an effective strategy with regard to national projects that are carried out in cooperation with foreign partners, which are accomplished in record time and with high efficiency as a result of the great interest and personal follow-up by the President.
