President El-Sisi Meets Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Energy AG

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Energy AG Mr. Joe Kaeser. Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mohamed Shaker, President and CEO of Siemens Energy AG Dr.-Eng. Christian Bruch, and Managing Director of Siemens Energy in Egypt Engineer Layla El-Hares attended the meeting.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed joint cooperation with Siemens in green energy projects. These efforts are part of Egypt's endeavor to become a regional hub for the production and exchange of new and renewable energy.

President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for Siemens’ achievements in implementing development projects in Egypt and its successful efforts in establishing power plants in Egypt.

The President stressed his aspiration to benefit from the company’s expertise in several development sectors in the field of new and renewable energy and electricity interconnection projects. His Excellency also mentioned that the country could benefit from Siemens’ expertise regarding the professional technical and vocational training programs provided to the Egyptian cadres, thus consolidating the German standards represented in high performance and accurate production.

Mr. Kaeser expressed that he was honored to meet with President El-Sisi, praising the fruitful cooperation with Egypt which is embodied in numerous projects in the field of energy. The most notable project is the three combined cycle power plants that have become the current backbone of the Egyptian power grid. Siemens considers them one of the prominent icons in the history of the company since its inception.

Mr. Kaeser also affirmed Siemens' aspiration to further promote the existing partnership with Egypt, particularly in the fields of new and renewable energy. It was noted that Siemens is keen to promote partnership with Egypt given the previous tangible achievements made in it during the past period in the areas of development and infrastructure. He confirmed that Siemens takes pride in its close cooperation with Egypt, which resulted in the huge success of its projects in Egypt due to the support and direct supervision of the President.
