President El-Sisi Meets King of Bahrain

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met in Sharm El-Sheikh with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain.
The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that President El-Sisi welcomed his brother King Hamad to his second country, Egypt, and confirmed that Egypt hlds in high esteem the historical ties that the two brotherly countries and peoples share.
The President also affirmed Egypt's keenness to continue enhancing bilateral cooperation with Bahrain in various fields, intensifying the pace of joint coordination on developments in the Middle East and strengthening unity and joint Arab action in the face of various regional and international challenges.
Majesty King Hamad expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception and lauded the close and sincere Egyptian-Bahraini relations. He affirmed that his current visit to Egypt is a continuation of the historical and distinguished relations that bind the two governments and peoples, in addition to the single destiny and future they share, and supports bilateral cooperation at all levels.

The Bahraini king also praised Egypt’s pivotal and well-established role as a cornerstone for security and stability in the region and its esteemed efforts to promote joint Arab action at all levels. He also lauded the great and significant development of Egyptian-Bahraini relations in various political, economic, developmental among other fields. He emphasized shared keenness to further deepen and develop those relations.
The Spokesman stated that the meeting touched on frameworks and prospects for joint cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain, especially in the fields of economy and investment by making optimal use of all available opportunities to enhance cooperation between them.
The discussions also tackled key regional and international issues, showing mutual understanding between the two sides regarding ways to address these issues. There was agreement in this context to maximize Egyptian-Bahraini cooperation and coordination to develop the joint Arab action system, to help safeguard Arab national security and enhance Arab capabilities.
The two leaders welcomed the upcoming summit to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that will bring together the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and the United States of America.
